ÞORLÁKSTÚN is a residential neighbourhood proposal for a long-vacant site in Hafnarfjörður, adjacent to Hvaleyrarskóli and connected to Tjarnavellir by footbridge. Commissioned by the town's planning office in 2021 and developed in collaboration with Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects the project takes its design cues from the DNA of Hafnarfjörður's older built fabric: pitched colourful roofs with dormers and traditional cladding.

The scheme delivers a compact, walkable street environment at one to three storeys, with each home oriented toward greenery and open space, sheltered from Reykjanesbraut by a landscaped buffer that doubles as a noise barrier. Units are designed to be affordable at entry point and expandable over time, building equity for owners rather than returns for developers.

The proposal is currently in the deiliskipulag public review process.
